Very many strings attached

The young bulu had her annual ‘Evacuation of the Stomach Contents’ marathon last week, but failed to beat her personal best hurling score of last year (9 times) by coming in at 6/7 times (depending on how you judge). However, if there were bonus points for sheer volume, unique barfing positions, and odor, 2011 would definitely be her year!!! Note to self: Don’t be lazy and feed your toddler pasta salad left over from a staff meeting. Sad face!

Virginia’s first ponytail. Sprout!

And below, Virginia’s first filmmaking effort…

Getting ready to murder Mother Nature

"Wish I was here..."

Dear Mother Nature,

I liked you a lot better when you were all blooming and steamy and staying light until 9. Lately? Your attitude really sucks. First you snowed all over the place on one of the busiest travel days of the year (not cool) and then you enjoyed it SO MUCH you decided to make it a weekly thing. Now you’re on some power trip where you’re like, “How cold can I go?! Check me out!!! Can’t feel your lower extremities? That’s ME!” I’m just really sick of your “attention” okay? Why are you always SOOOO nice to the Caribbean?

I just can’t help feeling like you’re mad at me?

Fine. Whatever.

Here are some things the rest of us can buy to be as cute as possible when our bodies are found ice-welded to playground equipment.

Mini Rodini micro fleece set - $51 (orig. $68!)

Talc, faux shearling vest - $58.50

Mini Rodini Overalls - $135

Handmade Bunny Slippers -$30

Faux Fur Mink Coat and Hat - 18mo-2T - $32

Vintage Child's Double Breasted Plaid Coat- Size 3T - $18

Little bow booties - $20 (they come in lots of colors)

In case you were wondering about The Gangsta…

I found her.

She was at my house this whole time.

Not sure I *realllllly* need to say anything else.

Double dribble

The holidays are over! Hip hip hooray! Yes! That’s right, I’m talking about Saint Elizabeth Seton’s Day. Always so much pressure to honor the life of that Catholicism-lovin’ New York native- am I right?

Let’s see- we are back from our jaunt to Canada that immediately followed Christmas. It was good to see some old pals and to remind myself that Toronto is freezing cold and proliferant with bad food. Summer only for that place, AM I RIGHT???

The bulu seemed to enjoy the pool at the hotel and I somehow managed to get zero pictures of that. Mom fail!

Just yesterday, we went to the pediatrician with V (mom, mike and myself) for her last ever visit with her wonderful doctor, Dr. Felix – who is sadly closing his practice and leaving New York entirely, for financial reasons. Ugh. Don’t even get me started on the fact that a DOCTOR can’t afford to live here. New York makes me want to scream these days.

Annnyyywayyy- V is doing great! She is still off the charts for height, although she has slimmed out since her last visit- no doubt the result of her increased mobility. The most intersting tidbit however was Felix’s prediction that, fully-grown, our sweet Virginia will stand between 5’11” and 6’1″ tall! Jeepers!

She tried on my glasses the other day and it was so cute! Unfortunately, this is the least blurry picture I was able to obtain due to trademark toddler rambunctiousness.

Ciao for now! Hope you’re all enjoying 2011 so far!
