According to this week’s babycenter.com update email…
“This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She’s sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby’s brain is very active now.”
Right on! I’ve started taking my wireless headphones and straddling my belly with them while some classical radio plays for about 30 minutes a day. It really makes her move which either means she be jammin, or she be wonderin’ what the hell is going on while she is just trying to rack out and relax. Oh well! If her brain is going to be active it might as well start digging Vivaldi.
This past week I have had several dreams about the future baby. In one, Mike and I took her to Quogue for her first beach experience. I was bending over so she could stick her hands in the surf and sand. She took two handfuls of wet sand and chucked them out in front of her. Much like her mama before her, she was really feeling the beach.
From there the dream kinda took a weird turn where some noisy stranger was asking me about when I gave birth (“oh, three days ago”) and if I was still bleeding. Ultimately she asked to hold the baby and ended up wandering off with her but … the beginning of the dream was good!
